In 1889–1890. Baldwin vowed to build'the best piano that could be built' and subsequently formed two production companies: Hamilton Organ, which built reed organs, and the Baldwin Piano Company, which made pianos. The company's first piano, an upright, began selling in 1891. The company introduced its first grand piano in 1895. Baldwin died in 1899 and left his estate to fund missionary causes. Wulsin ultimately purchased Baldwin's estate and continued the company's shift from retail to manufacturing. The company won its first major award in 1900.
When their model 112 won the Grand Prix at the Exposition Universelle in Paris, the first American manufactured piano to win such an award. Baldwin-manufactured pianos also won top awards at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition and the 1914 Anglo-American Exposition.
By 1913, business had become brisk, with Baldwin exporting to thirty-two countries in addition to having retailers throughout the United States. All the keys work it ready to play. I can't really say much more about the piano than that. All the keys and pedals work and it sounds nice. There are a few chips in minor chips in the ivory and there is minor wear on the outside do to age other then that it is a very beautiful piano that I hate to let go of.

All are musically inclined(not sure where that comes from) but they all chose to approach more mobile instruments. This is a fully functional instrument in good condition per a $200+ piano repairman. This unit as not been tuned for 7+ years. Please no chastising. I know its a crime but I am not musically inclined enough to notice. It still sounds great to me.

1902 Chickering and Sons Upright I have a 1902 Chickering and Sons Upright Piano for sale. It is in very great condition and works great. It Has all original internal parts/hammers and keys and needs 5 keys re-tuned. Everything looks and works great especially for something over 110yr's old. It has art work on the inside with the chickering company design and is absolutely beautiful. It kind of reminds me of 1800s style sunday school advocates. This would make for a great investment.

This piano is aged between 1940-50. It has normal wear and tear. It was my mothers as a teenager. It will need to be tuned up and restored, but it is all original and in great shape. The cover for the bench seat needs to be reupholstered but it has its original stuffing. One of the pedals needs repairing. This is a very beautiful piano and has been in our family since it was purchased brand new.

Based on the serial number. This piano was manufactured between 1947 and 1950. It does have some marks and scrapes(as shown in picture) however with some Old English for dark woods, they will probably be hardly noticeable. It played beautifully a few years ago, however it hasn't been tuned in quite a while so it's badly out of tune. Note: The'streaks' on the lower portion of the piano near the pedals are from where I used Pledge Furniture Polish and didn't realize I hadn't wiped it down enough before taking pictures. A classical-trained pianist, practiced on this piano, and in her younger days she played Chopin and classical works from all the classical composers on this piano. It has 88 keys with real ivory keytops. The black sharps keys have been re-stained. Piano has been partially refurbished including cleaned keys and re-stained ebony sharp keys.

This piano has always been kept in a non-smoking home and has been owned by the same family for over 70 years.
